We flew to Maui 2 days after Christmas.  We spent 9 days there on our own before the Wells family got there for Amy and Amin's wedding.  Then we were together with them for another 5 days.  What a trip... it really is as beautiful as everyone says it is.  It was overcast for several days (except for the sunsets at Little Beach) and then rained for a few days only to clear up to perfection for the week of the wedding.  These first 2 pages are pics from before my family got there.

Bamboo forest - it was so huge, tall and dense inside - what a surprise!

This clearing and waterfall were an hour hike up from the bamboo forest - Southeast Maui.

In the days after this picture, it rained and rained and this would've been full of rushing water.

This red sand beach took our breath away as a storm rolled in.

But it was very tall - I zoomed in on the top here.

We weren't the only ones enjoying the sunset - Little Beach.

hawbanyan.jpg
Banyan trees are not native to Hawaii. They were brought in from Asia and now are all over.

People ran out dancing to the music right into the ocean as the sun went down at Little Beach.
