Deokjeokdo is an island within an hour or so off the northwest coast of Korea. In June we
went there with a group of friends for a long weekend. It was unique in that it is not very developed and they
don't know quite what to make of foreigners visiting. It was also unique in that so many foreigners were there!
It's probably the most western faces we've seen in one place since leaving home (well, Thailand had more, but that was 1 1/2
years ago!). We just layed around with our friends and relaxed. Heather tooled around on a bike for a couple
hours and got these pictures...

One of our favorite pictures... |

Rice patty. |

Couldn't tell what this farmer was drying, but we've probably eaten it at some point over here. |

We ate SPICY chicken stew here - see the tree coming through her kitchen? |

|
Fields of roses were scattered in several places around the island. |

Common looking house on the island. |

More fishing boats in the bay. |
